PeanutButterGamer Hardcore Series is the original Hardcore series that all subsequent Hardcore Series, deemed "Fan Hardcores," have been based off of. The series was hosted by PBG, a co-founder of the Hardcore concept who also edited the series for its first five seasons. Later, Jeff took control of editing the show for the next four seasons. The show was then edited by Todd. The mains were PBG, Jeff and Dean, with Barry being a regular. Jared and McJones were former mains. McJones was also the other co-founder of the Hardcore concept and retired from the series for personal reasons.
On May 19th, 2021, it was announced that PeanutButterGamer's Hardcore had ended and that it was being succeeded by NormalBoots Hardcore.

- PBG is the only person that has appeared in every season.
- There have been 3 pets that have replaced portraits in the series, those being Gunther the Penguin from Terraria #2, Jeffrey the Wither Skeleton Skull from Minecraft #2 and Jeff the Chicken from Starbound.
- The series has a win ratio of 6:9 (40%).
- This number doesn't include the Mount & Blade Hardcore Shorts. The goal of each round of Mount & Blade was to survive as long as possible.
- There has been twelve different goals across the series.
- The only ones to repeat are the Ender Dragon, the Wall of Flesh, and the Wither.
- Out of those goals, the only ones with a 100% winrate are Diablo, the Elder Guardians, and Asra Nox.
