Finding Baal[edit | edit source]

You get the final Quest for Act V after you defeat the 3 ancients to prove you are worthy of defeating Baal, and enter the Worldstone Keep. This is the final quest of Act V and the final quest in the game called "Eve of Destruction" You have to go through 3 levels of the Worldstone keep, then you will find a place in Level 3 called "Throne of Destruction" once you make it in there you have to fight a ton of mobs, you eventually have to reach the top where Baal is located, But before you fight him he spawns 5 waves of monsters, the toughest monsters of each of the 5 Acts, once you defeat the waves one by one, Baal enters a portal behind him where the Worldstone Chamber is located. That is where you fight him.

Baal's attacks[edit | edit source]

  • Fire: Baal has 5 main attacks, he can cast fire at directly at you.
  • Fire Wave:He can spawn a wave of fire that can go throughout the whole room, like how his brother Diablo does.
  • Slowness: He can cast a wave of slowness (Blue) which can slow you down.
  • Tentacles: He can spawn Festering Appendages, which can spawn anywhere in the room and can attack you and distract you so Baal can use his other attacks.
  • Cloning: His last attack is summoning a clone of himself, which can do all the same attacks he does. You can tell which one is the real Baal by seeing the word "Demon" under his name, the one that says demon more to the right of his name and does not line up with his name and health bar is the real Baal, you don't have to attack his clone since he will eventually despawn, and then get spawned again.
  • NOTE: It would be a good idea to have a decent percentage of Fire resistance and cold resistance before you fight Baal, so you won't take as much damage from his fire attacks, and have less of a time of slowness. Also have an whole inventory full of Healing/Mana potions.

Defeating Baal[edit | edit source]

Make sure you have good skills, armor, and weapons before you fight Baal, long range skills/ weapons are the best to fight Baal. Also have many potions of Healing/Mana/Rejuvenation, also have a lot of Town Portal scrolls in case you need to go to town to heal up or get more potions (Baal doesn't put any barrier or bone prison around town portals like Diablo does, though he can be right next to it when you come back.) If you do all of this, you could survive and defeat Baal.

Ending (Spoilers)[edit | edit source]

Once you kill Baal, Tyreal the Archangel who has been helping throughout the whole game, will congratulate and thank you for defeating Baal, and that the Worldstone will collapse, because of Baal's destructive touch corrupting the place and that the power of Hell will flood into it. If you go back to town, all the townsfolk will thank you. Go through the portal that Tyreal puts down for you in the Worldstone chamber, when you enter that portal you get a screen showing you have a new rank for completing the game in Normal mode, then the ending Cinematic will play. The Cinematic has no dialogue, simply showing Tyreal throwing his sword at the Worldstone Keep, destroying it to ensure mankind's survival. 20 Years later, the events of Diablo III take place.
